API Access & Keys
Heavily exposed REST API for CI/CD and programmatic automation
Active API Keys
Probe Authentication Tokens (Regional Mesh)
Secure credentials required for remote Go Docker probes to authenticate registration and heartbeats. Tokens are stored securely using SHA-256 hashing in the database.
Example: Regional Probe Launch with Authentication
# Run a regional probe securely with its authentication token: PROBE_ID=probe-us-east \ PROBE_REGION=us-east \ PROBE_PORT=9090 \ PROBE_AUTH_TOKEN=ow_probe_your_secret_token \ ./overwatch-probe
Example: Trigger On-Demand Regional Check
curl -X POST http://localhost:8080/api/v1/checks/instant \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-d '{"target_url": "https://api.github.com", "type": "http"}'
